If kayaking has caught your eye and interest, and now you want to learn how to negotiate rapids and how to surf those waves and holes. Let the Aquaterra Adventures kayak school show you the ropes, from paddling in a straight line, to negotiating class 1 and 2 rapids, to taking the plunge into the tongue of a Class 3 or 4 rapid.

At the Aquaterra Adventures™ kayak school, or instructors have the experience and skill to teach beginners the basics of whitewater and the finer details of paddling skills and new techniques. We have a wide range of kayaks to suit your skill level and body type.

Kayak classes are scheduled upto 4 days. We recommend that you spend at least four days in our school as a first step. The reason for this is that you will have more time to learn and practice the basic skills, and then apply them to moving water.

The kayaks that we use are quick, maneuverable, and very stable if paddled with an aggressive spirit. Our experienced guides will lead your group down the river, and will give you tips for safe whitewater inflatable kayaking. We use top of the line kayaks and accessories to ensure a safe and adventurous trip. 

An Inflatable Kayak (IK), or Ducky, is more stable than a hard shell kayak and easier to master. A 2 person IK is a great fun way to take a whitewater newbie through rapids. 

Most of our Inflatable Kayaking trips float an initiation stretch of river with ample practice time to gain confidence before we get to the big river rapids. You will learn how to navigate your own kayak down the river. Experience whitewater like never before by learning to read water on longer trips, maneuver around rocks, holes and even surf! Your guide, in a nearby kayak, will give you continuous instruction, showing you how to maneuver your kayak and explain river running technique. Inflatable kayaks are stable and maneuverable, so no kayaking experience is needed to comfortably control the kayak. We'll hit lots of Class 2 and easy Class 3 rapids in the kayaks, making it an exhilarating day on the water!
